SF LIFE: Boo Time, New Eats, Veg Fest
This is the weekend for all things spooktacular – you might want to visit some of my recommended haunts! New restaurants occur in SF on a daily basis, we have discovered some delicious meals for you. The World Veg Festival is here, and you can explore all things vegan and vegetarian at this event to learn why a plant based diet is ethical and healthy. And yes Pumpkin almond milk lattes ARE good for you, of course!
Boo Around the Bay
Hey Tomatoes – what will you be for Halloween? If you are a Tomato, most likely you have no wee ones counting their candy haul, nor do you need to attend the annual school costume parade. However, if you are like me and still enjoy the festivities that come with this fall holiday (yes I will be rummaging through the costume box) then here are a few ideas to help you celebrate without a raging party or a sugar rush.
Winchester Mystery House
Now may be the time to finally visit this San Jose iconic mansion, especially since it debuted in a movie this year. The 13th Door is their new fall show where guests are taken on a candle lit journey through 13 doors whose purpose and secretes the Winchester widow took to her grave. Brave souls will roam the halls along a new, longer and maddening maze that is sure to rattle even the most skeptical tomatoes. Now through the 31st. Get the details.
HaHa Halloween
Get your laughs on at Cobb’s Comedy Showcase on all Hallow’s eve where the giggles will outweigh the frights. See up and coming comedians as they hone their craft at 8:00 p.m. on the 31st. Tickets are free, so get there early for a good seat. You may even get heckled! www.cobbscomedy.com
PianoFight Does Halloween
PianoFight is a community-driven Indy arts venue that partners with local artists to make great shows, mouth watering eats and fab cocktails. This unique space is the home base for local non-profits like Tenderloin Walking Tours amongst others. At night, the laughs and talent arise. Every time you take a bite of a tasty burger or enjoy a show, you help keep this community-centric creative space vibrant and thriving.
Among other entertaining events this month, on the 31st Sleepover with Sam and Molly will have you giggling in your cocktail. This is a variety show dedicated to comedy, nostalgia, and staying up past lights out. This month, Sam DiSalvo and Molly Sanchez invite you to their party full of stories from Halloween parties past, tarot readings, and definitely not a killer on the loose. www.pianofight.com
