The lovely and hilarious ladies behind #imomsohard, bring their honest humor about momhood to San Jose. Two fab tomatoes reinvented themselves and started a successful company that nourishes are body – read on for the scoop!

June 6-18. SF Jazz Festival

35 years of toe tapping Jazz returns! This annual event began earlier this week, but there are plenty of great shows coming up through June 18th. Four different venues feature jazz musicians playing tunes with your favorite instruments. If the saxophone gets you hopping, the Chris Potter Quartet plays on June 13th. Love the Trumpet? June 15th you can move and groove with Ambrose Akinsmusire.

If you like to dance, Bay Area based Con Brio serves up electrifying soul/funk/R&B, and I guarantee you won’t be able to stay seated for long. You can even buy just dance floor tickets if you know you will be up and swinging. Many of the events are held at the intimate and acoustically perfect SF Jazz center. Others perform at Herbst Theatre and Davies Symphony Hall. The center has soulful music all year long, so if you can’t catch the festival, be sure to check out the impressive year long line-up. Whole Soul

More Tomatoes reinventing themselves – hooray! Two South Bay tomatoes, Lisa Fry and Jennifer MacDonell have joined forces and created a magical business, The Whole Soul Company. Both are empty nesters and Lisa, mother of 3 grown children and Jennifer, Mom to 4 have combined their skills and love of holistic healing to bring us products to quench our skin and soothe our bodies and souls.

Lisa, a former teacher with a Masters in education followed her heart into a creative outlet as a decorator and interior designer. Heart centered designing ideas led her to become Reiki certified. Jennifer, a labor and delivery nurse transferred her healing hands skills from the hospital and became a certified Healing Touch and Reiki practitioner as well. Jennifer is also trained in Aromatherapy and is passionate about finding natural solutions to wellness issues. Together these two tomatoes have created products that I can personally guarantee, are soul soothing. Taking passions and turning them into business – it’s never too late tomatoes, so follow your passion.Try their products here – your soul will be soothed. www.thewholesoulcompany.com

June 13. I Mom So Hard

Tomatoes, many of us have been there, you know, raising kids – it was the best of times etc. And as we have experienced, some days as a Mom were (are) harder than others. No one knows better than Kristen Hensley and Jen Smedley, the very real women behind the successful video series #IMomSoHard. Now, they’re hitting the road with the IMomSoHard tour, which makes a hilarious stop at the San Jose Center for the Performing Arts.

This show is like an evening out with your two best friends, but with more wine.  They are adept at making moms feel uncomfortably normal. They have over 700,000 Facebook fans and more than 55 million views of their web series #imomsohard. Sure to deliver the kind of straight talk you can only get from discussing body hair in the playroom while sipping mimosa! You will leave laughing at their great mix of humor honesty.   Get tickets.
