Smokey Joe’s Cafe has an Insanely Talented Cast
What a talented cast of performers!
They say the neon lights are bright on Broadway.
The are also pretty bright just a few blocks west of Broadway on 42nd street and 9th Avenue, where Smokey Joe’s Cafe is playing at Stage 42.
Now, Smokey Joe’s Cafe is a show without a book, without dialogue and without a particular story line. What it is, however, is a song-filled journey through the repertoire of Lieber and Stoller, with songs you know and many you may not.
The insanely talented cast of 9 meet up and hang out at this attractive bar where their friendships and relationships are played out through song and dance.
With a great looking set by Beowulf Boritt (with fabulous old radios featured), and a show that is beautifully directed and choreographed by Joshua Bergasse, this musical revue provides the opportunity for the cast to really shine.
The cast as a whole is astounding, with each performer bringing a treasure trove of talent to their individual parts.
The musicians are equally amazing. This company of powerhouse entertainers definitely bring their all to the stage which makes the revue so enjoyable.
Smokey Joe’s Cafe is 90 minutes with no intermission. http://smokeyjoescafemusical.com/
