Sneak Peek of the Jubilee
There is a special glow to London now. Jubilee preparations are everywhere. Despite the barricades and crowd control fencing, the big royal venues are sparkling clean and bedecked with flags. But there are smaller and less official signs too. Placquards in shop windows, neighborhood street banners, and gardens that have seen a bit more effort than usual.
Even the sometimes fickle English weather seems to be joining in the celebration—whether it will continue is anyone’s guess. But for now, London is beginning to look a lot like a city ready to celebrate the rarest of holidays–the 70th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation.
Chinatown is ready…of course the lanterns are nothing new on these streets
Grocery stores have stocked up on Jubilee “necessities”
London’s shiny new Elizabeth Line trains are already running
Historic Royal Palaces—like Hampton Court—are blooming
Every shopping street has banners aloft
And this famous grandmother’s image is everywhere!
