Sonnets from Suburbia: Got Libido?

Got Libido?

Everywhere I look or read or scroll

says I am at an age of low libido.

But I am here to tell ya and extoll

all sensuality and here’s my credo.

For reasons well beyond my aged knowledge

my sexuality is scoring high,

much higher than it even was in college.

And it’s somewhat unfair, I can’t deny.

In dreams I am a nymph stroking and rubbing

against any bare thigh or arm or neck.

But in my waking hours the kitchen scrubbing,

my body wrestles with my heat in check.

Frustration, grouchy days, the hours thorny.

Most senior citizens won’t claim they’re horny.
