Spotlight on Long Island: Small Business Saturday

It has become so easy to just sit at home and order anything from Amazon with a click of a button. And, with such quick delivery, why bother going out when you can use your time otherwise? Why? Because it is isolating and impersonal. ‘Tis the season to go out shopping and support local businesses. Small Business Saturday, November 30th, is more than just a shopping day. It’s a celebration of community and entrepreneurial spirit.

When you shop small, you invest directly in the dreams of local business owners who enrich our neighborhoods, create jobs, and offer unique services and products you won’t find anywhere else. Many of the owners are on site so you will actually meet them in person. Every purchase you make helps sustain the vibrant, diverse businesses that give our small towns character. It is also healthy for you to be outside, walk around, enjoy the season’s beautiful decorations that line the streets of these small towns, and see other people. So, enjoy this Saturday, and any other day, as you shop ‘til you drop.
