Summer Style Refresh 2

Even the most stylish people can use some inspiration now and then – a fresh eye on your look can help you break out of a rut, tame your style stress, and make you see what you wear a little differently.  That’s what I did with a few clients – I created unique looks just for them that may be a bit out of their comfort zone, or are a new way to wear what they love.  I’m calling it a Summer Style Refresh.

I recently created a series of outfits for Faye.  Faye loves fashion, and is super stylish on her own – she works with jewelry and different ways to wear it on a daily basis.  I wanted to inspire her with looks that not only enhance her assets, but also allow her jewelry to shine – so I created outfits to take her through a bunch of summer occasions: a typical day at the office, a summer wedding, date night, a weekend barbecue, and one of the jewelry parties that she regularly hosts.

FAYE’S SUMMER WEDDING LOOK

An open-shoulder dress that skims the figure is a great way to be stylish AND comfortable at any dressy summer soirée.  But don’t stop there – kick up the glam factor with ruffled heels and layered gold necklaces.

Why did I choose this look for Faye?  When we first started working together, Faye told me that she wanted to have more fun with color – so that’s what I gave her.  A berry-colored dress, layered necklaces in shades of blue, and citron heels pack a color punch together that is so much more than the sum of their parts!

FAYE’S AT THE OFFICE LOOK

You can be just as stylish on duty as you are off duty – it’s all in the interpretation.  A feminine, attention-getting pencil skirt is balanced by a simple chambray shirt – and subtle (but stellar) accessories polish off an office-ready look.

Why did I choose this look for Faye?  Faye doesn’t wear a lot of skirts – so I wanted to show her how to use one as the basis for a completely appropriate (but still completely Faye) outfit for work.  The skirt is the blueprint that all the other colors reflect – it’s an easy way to create something cohesive, but altogether fun!

FAYE’S DATE NIGHT LOOK

Summertime date nights are the best time to grab something that you otherwise may not – a little lace, floral print heels, and that patterned straw clutch that you’ve been eyeing.

Why did I choose this look for Faye?  Faye loves fashion – and she’s fully embraced the off-the-shoulder trend this season.  But the best thing about this trend is that it’s an amazing way to show some skin, while still being appropriately covered.  For something different, I went with simple black and white – and then made it all about print, texture, and a sculptural necklace.

FAYE’S SUMMER BARBECUE LOOK

What’s the formula for fun summer weekends?  A major hit of color, a dash of white, and then pile on the gold!

Why did I choose this look for Faye?  Faye is on the petite side, and I wanted to give her the option of a long dress, but not too long – so a midi (that comes in petite!) is ideal.  And then, it’s all about keeping it simple – a wear-with-everything white denim jacket and gold accessories are her go-to’s for summer style.

FAYE’S JEWELRY PARTY LOOK

Yes, a necklace can completely inspire your look!

Why did I choose this for Faye?  When she’s hosting a party or pop-up event, she needs to be sassy and stylish, but still able to get around to all her guests – so I chose crazy fun pants and easy-to-wear wedges.  And then to keep her necklace center stage – a simple white top is the perfect backdrop.
