Are you still trying to figure out what to wear for Thanksgiving?  Heading over to your family or friends’ house, and you’re not sure what’s appropriate AND comfortable?  Worry no more – I’ve got you covered.  The ultimate eternally appropriate and full-stomach friendly outfit for a holiday gathering is the sweater dress.  It allows you to indulge to your heart’s content, to be comfortable on that road trip, and is stylish enough if the occasion is a little fancier than expected.

The best thing is that a simple dress can transition to almost any occasion.  Check out how to style one great dress three ways – chances are, you’ve probably got some of this stuff in your closet already.  So figure out what you’re wearing, make sure the family is ready, and get a good night’s sleep.  The holiday season is starting…

Heading to that cabin in the mountains for the long weekend?  Then bundle up in style.  Grab your fur-trimmed puffy vest and a pair of chunky boots – and don’t forget to keep some color near your face, in case the cold weather puts a little extra ruddiness in your cheeks.

Fancy-Giving

If your Thanksgiving plans are an occasion for dressing up, you can still have that second dessert in a pumpkin-pie-friendly dress.  A dramatic cape will definitely make an entrance, and a killer necklace ensures you’ll remain the center of attention.

Casual-Giving

Do your holiday plans include a long drive, and a casual but not-too-casual dinner?  Then you’ll be more than covered in a mid-weight leather jacket (that can get tossed in the back seat when someone cranks the heat), ankle booties (that can get kicked off to stretch out in the car), and a tote (to hold whatever you need to make the drive fun).  And don’t forget your Ipad – for when the kids fall asleep on the ride home.sweater dress 3

Jeannie – the clothes are a couple of seasons old, but just so you know, the sweater dress is by Stella McCartney, and all outerwear, boots, sunglasses and bags are by Coach. The scarf and all jewelry is by Stella & Dot.
