Theater News

I’m sharing some theatre related news with you today.

The hilarious The Play That Goes Wrong is slated to close on August 26, before a national tour.
By all means, if you need to laugh, (and really, who doesn’t?) this is the play to see.

One of the great free events in New York City, Shakespeare in the Park, kicks off on May 29 with Othello. directed by Ruben Santiago-Hudson.
A favorite Spring time fundraiser of mine takes place on June 18. Broadway Sings for Pride, produced by the fabulous Neal Bennington, brings together the best of Broadway, film, television and more in a one night only concert and show.
This year, the event will benefit the Tyler Clementi Foundation, and their wonderful Upstander Pledge anti-bullying campaign.

Get tickets.

The Broadway Green Alliance, an industry wide initiative, serving to educate, motivate and inspire the theatre community and patrons to implement environmentally friendlier practices, will hold a Spring Textile Drive on May 23. It’s time to clean out the closets, and bring your clothes, shoes, linens and other textiles to the drive from 11 AM to 2 PM at Duffy Square, 46th Street between 7th Avenue and Broadway.
