What’s in Your Sign for 2021?

I’ve always loved horoscopes, astrology, and the moon. I created and wrote the AstroFit monthly column for Astronet.com. Now that I’m wishing all of you a happy, healthy Covid free New Year 2021, I thought reviewing 2021 predictions might be a good way to begin.

One day when I was freshly showered and getting dressed in the locker room after a delicious swim at the YMCA in Westport, Connecticut, I couldn’t help but listen to the conversations all around me. One woman was responding to others’ questions about horoscopes and sounded very knowledgeable. She suddenly turned to me and asked if I had children.

I responded, “Yes, I have two daughters, one Taurus and one Scorpio.”

She responded, “What a combination! You must be a Virgo!”  I am. What’s your sign?

Capricorn: Dec. 22 – Jan. 19

Your birthday just happened or is about to. The Capricorns in my life include my father, Nat Wolff, January 14,  and two granddaughters, January 6 and 14. They are all creative, artistically talented, and willing to tackle any kind of challenge.  My father made me the eater I am today. When I refused my mother Ruthie’s offer of baby food, he filled my highchair tray with smoked salmon, herring, and salami.

Aquarius: Jan. 20 – Feb. 18

Luckily those of you in the Age of Aquarius love a great challenge. Heads up, one seems to be brewing mid-year in your career sector. No worries, that might be the encouragement you need to aim higher and make a move forward, once again.

Pisces: Feb. 19 – March 20

Pisces are my (Virgo’s) exact opposite, which included my brother Steve and nine different friends and family  birthdays all within the second week of March. I’ve often read about how laid-back Pisces are, which is not exactly the case with the ones I know. One thing for sure, Pisces enjoy luxurious surroundings with fabulous food and drink. Sounds like time to plan a vacation once everyone is immunized.

Aries: March 21 – April 19

Aries like to follow the action and be part of it. I was very surprised when my mother Ruthie came to visit me while I was working in Denali National Park for a summer. I will never forget my joy at seeing her at the baggage carousel. She attended a Roads Scholar program right behind the hotel I worked at. She toured Denali while I worked and we enjoyed all of our downtime together. Four of her five group leaders were born under the Aries sign.

Taurus: April 20 – May 20

I’m pleased, it looks good for my daughter professionally and long term career wise. That makes me smile with pride and pleasure. Born a Taurus, you keep growing,  learning and doing well. Stay on top of things, don’t let the grass grow under your feet, and enjoy your accomplishments and success. Hmm, too bad we can’t all claim this one for ourselves, but we can keep trying.

Gemini: May 21 – June 20

The Gemini sign always appealed to me because of its twin duality. My grandfather was a twin and I always thought it would be so cool to have two babies within one pregnancy. It was not in my horoscope; however, 2021 looks like it’s full of good luck for Geminis without major obstacles to overcome. Relax, chill out, and enjoy the ride.

Cancer: June 21 – July 22

Sorry, looks like Covid and relationships made this a tough year, so leave it behind and look for love in all the right places and under the best of conditions 2021. Whenever I think of love and relationships, I don’t just see couples, I see all of those I interact with and truly enjoy. Try it, hope you’ll like it!

Leo: July 23 – Aug. 22

I love the sign of the lion. I don’t think I know any Leos or have any in my family. It sounds like this might be a very good year for you to look into you DNA. Since you like to know everything you can, particularly about yourself, this might fill in some blanks for you, forming connections with the past as well as the present and future.

Virgo: Aug. 23 – Sept. 22

Supposedly Virgos are extremely well organized, I’m not. As a freelance writer, I wish I was a planner, figuring out my projects and writing outlines to work from. Unfortunately, I am a pantser, ruled by the philosophy, whatever works, do it.

Libra: Sept. 23 – Oct. 22

In my experience, Libras tend to be fun and like having a good time. It looks like you are in for a raise and a vacation in a place you’ve always dreamt of visiting. Nice! Hope you can do it actually, in person, rather than just virtually!

Scorpio: Oct. 23 – Nov. 21

What it means to be a Scorpio: Self-reliant, independent, forever resourceful. Dp not  try to argue with a Scorpio; I need not spell out which side will always win. As you are fully aware, Scorpio, you put your whole self into everything you do and absolutely must plan in down time to recoup and regroup. It can be a home staycation or away, but your mind, body, and soul need that break from the rest of the work year.

Sagittarius: Nov. 22 – Dec. 21

Always learning and growing, which direction is next, Sag? No worries, it won’t be boring, you don’t have any patience with that. How about a volunteer vacation? It can even be over Zoom. Consider volunteering to help others in need file their taxes, or have a pen pal, or just someone to talk to. The benefits work two ways.

All the best to every sign—Healthy, happy, wonderful 2021!
