Yoga Trouble
I find myself in downward facing dog,
declining to move forward into plank.
Not in the present moment, in a fog,
My Yogic attitude is rather rank.
Reluctantly I breath and shift my pose,
reminded to be only where I’m at,
Distracted by arthritis in my toes
and by my extra lay’r of belly fat.
Beloved teacher asks, does not command
that we all focus in on our intent.
Alas my thoughts are like the shifting sand,
indulging my internal argument.
We fin’lly come together chanting “Om”.
But typically my head’s already home.
